Shapers is a policy and community engagement organisation that helps people navigate barriers, create opportunities and shape a better future.

We recognise that barriers can arise from inequality, systems, organisations, circumstances or our own limitations. We also recognise that access to opportunities is not always equal. Family circumstances, financial resources, professional networks, representation and historical experiences can all influence the opportunities available to individuals and communities.

We examine how policy and community decisions shape everyday life, helping people understand how systems, infrastructure, services and opportunities are connected, and how they can engage with them more effectively.

We cannot always choose the barriers we face, but we can develop our capacity to navigate them. By developing knowledge, relationships, confidence and practical skills, individuals and communities can strengthen their ability to access opportunities and navigate challenges.

Through learning, dialogue, creative engagement and community-led initiatives across the UK and diaspora communities, we bring people together to explore ideas, strengthen relationships and create pathways into education, employment, enterprise, leadership and civic participation. We work with communities, organisations and decision-makers to broaden access to opportunities, encourage participation and help build stronger futures together.
